A Brief History
Leeds Petanque Club came into being at Easter 2006 after extensive work by our first Chairman Nigel Clay. Richmond House School kindly gave us use of part of their car park on their sports field and club members constructed the terrain themselves opening for business in May 2006. It has a 4 piste terrain plus free car parking, a shared clubhouse with Bowls & Cricket teams and since the early days has recruited over 60 members and maintains a membership of between 20 and 30 players. We have informal play every Tuesday and Sunday; Club competitions twice a month; our team plays in the York League and some club members attend regional events and have qualified to represent the Northern region.
Next organised Club event is Sunday 29th August.
In addition to the regular informal club days this will be a Triples event. Play 3 games with the same 2 partners and best team gets the prizes and medals. It's free to club members and you can bring a first time friend for free. There will be prizes on the day. Start at 11-00am. Be early to draw teams. Man in charge is Roy.
Club Sessions
We play every Sunday at 11am and Tuesday 6-30pm. It's all very informal and friendly. Contact one of the Club officers if you want to ask about anything. Come and try it out for free.
